Benjamin S. Butcher, Chief Executive
Officer
Ben’s principal roles for STAG Capital Partners are general management,
strategic direction and capital formation/relationships – Ben's
twenty-five plus year career has been primarily spent in the areas
of real estate finance and transactional work. This has included both ‘Wall
Street’ experience (Director level positions at both Credit Suisse
First Boston and Nomura Asset Capital) and venture capital experience.
He has had direct responsibility for transactions in excess of $1 billion
during his tenure with these firms.
Ben is a graduate of Bowdoin College
(AB) and the Tuck School (MBA).
Stephen
C. Mecke, Chief Investment Officer
Steve is in charge of asset acquisition and asset management. Steve’s
twenty-plus years of experience in real estate has been focused in
the acquisition and financing of various real estate asset types.
Prior to joining STAG, Steve ran the acquisitions groups for M|P|A,
a private
real estate fund manager that represented a large east coast endowment
fund and Meditrust Corporation, a publicly traded real estate investment
trust.
Steve is a graduate of Hobart College (BA) and Northeastern
University (MBA).
Kathryn Arnone, General Counsel
Kathryn is responsible for all of the STAG Companies’ legal matters including supervising closings, lease amendments, property sales, corporate governance matters and employment issues. Prior to joining STAG Capital, Ms. Arnone was Vice President and Assistant General Counsel at La Quinta Inns, a lodging company where she specialized in acquisitions and sales matters, and was General Counsel – Healthcare Division at Meditrust Corporation, a healthcare real estate investment trust, where she supervised a portfolio of first mortgage loans and sale-leaseback leases. Prior to these positions, Ms. Arnone worked for several private law firms. Ms. Arnone is a graduate of Smith College (AB) and Harvard Law School (JD).
David G. King, Managing Director of Asset Management and Credit Analysis
David’s principal focus for STAG Capital Partners is portfolio management and supervision of credit analysis. David has over 12 years of experience
in the real estate industry. Prior to joining STAG Capital Partners,
David was a Regional Management Officer with AMB Property Corporation,
a publicly traded real estate investment trust, with primary responsibility
for leasing, management, development, acquisition sourcing and dispositions
of the firm’s industrial and office portfolios in the Mid-Atlantic
region.
David is a graduate of The University of Vermont
(BA) and Indiana University (MPA).
Bradford S. Sweeney,
Managing Director of Acquisitions
Brad’s principal focus for STAG Capital Partners is asset
acquisition – deal
sourcing, marketing, underwriting and closing. Brad has over 14
years experience in the real estate industry. Prior to joining
STAG Capital
Partners, Brad was an Investment Officer at Fidelity Investments
Real Estate Group where he was responsible for sourcing, negotiating,
underwriting
and closing private equity and mezzanine debt investments in various
real estate asset types on behalf of Fidelity’s value-add
private real estate funds. Brad is a member of the Boston Real Estate Finance Association (REFA), the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR), and the Boston Security Analysis Society (BSAS).
Brad is a graduate of Saint
Michael’s
College and also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation
(CFA).
Michael
C. Chase, Managing Director of Acquisitions
Mike’s principal focus for STAG Capital Partners is asset
acquisition – deal
sourcing, underwriting and closing. Mike has over ten years experience
in the real estate industry ranging from brokerage (investment
sales & leasing)
to acquisitions & development. Prior to joining Stag, Mike
was the Vice President of Acquisitions at Paradigm Properties where
he
was responsible for originating, underwriting, analyzing and closing
new investments. He also spent several years as a broker in the
Boston office of Grubb & Ellis focusing primarily on investment
sales.
Mike is a graduate of The University of Vermont.
Steven C. Harrington, Controller
Steven is responsible for directing the accounting, tax, and financial reporting requirements for the STAG Companies. He plays a key role in both acquisitions and portfolio dispositions. In addition to these responsibilities, Mr. Harrington manages the capital requirements of the investment funds and is a primary contact with the investors. Prior to joining STAG Capital, Mr. Harrington was Controller of Hill & Partners, a trade show management and production company. He has management level experience in both public accounting and private industry. He began his career at Deloitte & Touche and is a Certified Public Accountant. Mr. Harrington is a graduate of University of Massachusetts at Amherst (BBA).
